Aftermarket Breakaway Switch

I was told my '75 Argosy did not come with the breakaway switch but Virginia law requires it. How do I wire an aftermarket switch? (I found one new for $10)

It's pretty easy. Hook one wire from the breakaway switch to the battery charge lead (black wire). Hook the other wire from the breakaway switch to the brake control wire (blue).

Do you have a tongue jack? That vintage Airstream has the breakaway wired or the tongue jack leads. On a 75 your trailer brake wire may be yellow.
