Steve, I believe you have a Direclink controller? They make actuators as well. I wonder if lag time, etc would be any better with matching engineering and design???

No, I have a Prodigy P3. I have a 1600 lb Dexter on order because it
will fit in the compartment where the Actibrake is now.

Me. I completely bypassed the Dodge wiring harness.

Used 4 runs of #10 wire. Three went to approprite pin on 7 way at back of truck. Factory wires cut off and securely capped.

From positive battery post to auto reset 30 amp circuit breaker on firewall to 7 way.
From negative battery post to 7 way.

These two wires above replaced #14 factory wires so more charging capacity to batteries on trailer when driving.

A second wire from positive battery post through a second auto reset 30 amp circuit breaker on firewall went to under dash area to power lead of DirecLink.

Blue wire from under dash connected to DirecLink blue brakesignal output cable to 7 way.

Factory brake unit shows usual startup display but remains unaware of trailer and no error codes are thrown.

Undersized truck blue factory wiring was probably cause on disc brake controller on trailer as #10 is needed for significant power draw.

iPhone from UK more later

DirecLink plugged into parallel OBDII cable along with Insight Edge gor engine gages and power management.

Used BrakeRite II SD brake pump in trailer original battery box as electronics are a separate user replaceable module using three or four plugs. I carry a spare electronics interface.

Amazing data bus if DirecLink and Actilink are used together including fluid levels of bake fluid in Actilink displaying on in cab hand control brake display.

Well we made it home this afternoon about 2. Driving 2000 miles without trailer brakes is something I never want to do again.

Thank you Chrysler for adding an exhaust brake to my truck.

Forgot while out and about, but I was told by the factory the BrakeRite II SD and RF brake pump models are completely incompatible with everyone's built in brake controller. I can sure vouch for that with a 2012 Dodge going through the mountains with variable interval and strength application of the trailer brakes no matter the settings.

After installing the DirecLink, all those issues disappeared.

I have the DirecLink set on the default number of 3 (range of 0 to 9) and it is enough, 4 tends to be more aggressive.

With what trailer size setting? I have mine set on "medium" and as my brakes have worn in, I now find a setting of 6 is needed....used to be 3 - 4. Application seems smoother and not so grabby now too.

I remember that heavy mode was for over 10,000 pounds and our Classic GVW is 10,000 pounds. I did not select the heavy mode. The disc brakes are Kodiak 12" Dacromet finish rotors and stainless steel calipers.
