ActiBrake

So our 1977 Airstream was parked and someone pulled the breakaway release wire. The brakes are locked on and the batteries were dead. We have charged the trailers 2 batteries but don't know how to reset the brakes. Any one have any suggestion?

hi slug

is the issue pads stuck to rotors or calibration?

we've covered the reset/calibration issue a few times as it relates to the ford integrated brake controller...

and once or twice for prodigy users...

instead of sending you to those threads here are 2 other choices...

1. the classic line owners manuals have 3-4 pages on the system (including calibration) see pages b-3 to b-6 here...

http://www.airstream.com/docs/2006_Classic_OM.pdf

it appears that this info was provided BY actibrake and should apply to your set up too.

2. the brake company also has a website with owners manuals, install guides, faqs and so on...

go here and "select" your model style, 1 or 2 ...

http://www.activetech1.com/actibrake/manual/manual.htm
_____________________________

the process of re-calibration after a power loss or disconnect is pretty simple...

but it's too important to rely on misquotes from us...

cheers

Actually they are not locked on, the actibrake unit just wont come on, so we have no brakes at all.

well if there are NO BRAKES (and you've checked the wiring with a multimeter) contact actibrake directly.

they are helpful working folks through the issues.

the circuit board may be fried, but they will go over that issue with you.

it is helpful to have a copy of the owners manual which covers some basic trouble shooting issues.

let us know what u learn and how this all shakes out.

brakes is good!
