1973 sovreign

The brakes signals and light in the trailer have worked before.

Just hooked it up to the vehicle to test the brake wires before I put new brakes on. NOTHING was working.

Took apart the umbilical. White wire was loose and off. reattached and checked both ends. Still nothing.

Have power going to the vehicle 7 way outlet.

Is there a fuse somewhere on the trailer?

I have a Chevy Pickup. I had to put fuses in both fuse boxes (under the hood and on the side of the dash on the drivers side) in the truck to get power to the 7 way plug. Is there power at the plug to work the tail and brake lights?

Not sure about a 1973 but I don't believe there was ever a fuse on the lighting circuits from the 7-way. Those are fused in the tow vehicle. You may have a fuse or breaker on the charge line to protect the 7way and umbilical in the event of a short to ground.

If nothing works at all check the fuses in the tow vehicle and the ground connection to the trailer. If everything works when you're hitched but doesn't when your plugged in but not actually hitched on the ball it's probably grounding.

HMMM trailer was plugged in. I will try it without it plugged in and check the fuses.

Where would I find the fuse on the charge line?

The fuses are all at the univolt, and quite possibly (fuzzy memory) one inside the coach where the umbilical plugs in, under the front windows at floor line. Hope you find it!
