Give a look on the plug connections on the inside at the front of the trailer. When I went looking on mine, I found the brake wire had been disconnected where the wires connect to the umbilical plug at the inside front of the trailer. Good luck............Phil.

My 66 doesn't have a battery as well. I have had trouble with my brake controller before. It happens when I am plugged into shore power and plugged into my turck at the same time. It fries my brake contoller. Don't know why, but i did it twice before I figured out that they both can't be connected at the same time. Hope this helps.

For me to get my brakes and all exterior lights working took me about 4 days. Just to tow, a temporary light harness will work. That just leaves the brakes. Start by checking the tow vehicle with nothing plugged in except the tester. Then test the cord. I tested my trailer brakes with a jumper wire and a battery charger. My blog has a section on the lights and 7-way plug.

It's all pretty simple. Do the brakes work? If no, fix them. If yes, just find the correct wire and plug it in. It's actually that easy.
