I would not suggest putting P metric low pressure hi flex car tires on a Airstream trailer.Maybe 40 or 50 years ago but a lot has changed in tires.(used to run bias belts in the old days).
The reason people are switching is not for the weight rating. It is to avoid costly repeated blowouts due to poorly manufactured 15 ST Goodyear Marathon tires.
Non believer?? Google Goodyear Marathon failure for yourself.
There are very few other ST 15inch reliable tire choices available.

Upgrading to 16 inch wheels for a single axle trailer is $160(less than $80 each) plus 2 -16 tires LTX Michelins (You are going to buy two tires anyways)will be alot cheaper than $3k-$5k repair to your trailer.
Your trailer will thank you.
And sitting on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere is not cool.
Its expensive $$

But I've been on GYM's since 1987, two trailers, four set's with nothing more than a nail.

So when is this..."old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?
