Action, probably right. I will ask them about it again this May when it gets it’s checkup before the warranty ends. Been a great unit so far with only a few minor issues.
I just had Smart Weigh calculate my PSI. Tires and trailer (Classic 30’) call for 80 PSI. I am under max load by 750 lbs and was told to inflate my tires to 55 PSI by Smart Weigh. Apparently I’ll have a smoother ride. I’ve been filling them to 76 all along as it turns out my ViAir and secondary tire gauges were 4 lbs under when tested against theirs. I have always had a very smooth ride (I never empty the dogs water bowl in transit and not a drop spilled). I will drive tomorrow for the 1st time at the lower pressure. Little nervous as it is a big difference. Maybe I’ll go halfway down for half the drive then let more pressure out once I am comfortable.
adjust tire pressures cold only! . If everything rode okay at 76 why lower pressures? Always err on the side of higherr pressures. . Better to have a firmer ride than a blowout from too low of oressure. The tire dealers charts are for the minimum pressure at a certain weight. The psi on the tire is for the max weight.
As for cold inflation, meant halfway through the journey
home and lower pressure again the next day before I continue on. No worries, I know only cold inflation!
Smartwiegh dose all all of the calculations of weigh and base it on that. 55 seems extraordinarily low to me. I left them at 76 today.
