What Size Tires Come with AS Single Axle Trailers?

I currently own a 2009 17' Casita Spirt Deluxe with has a GVW of 3500lbs. Plenty of Casita owners have had issues with GY Marathon tires and have switched to other brands, moved up to 15" and wider sizes and load ratings and switched to LT times. Similar issues to AS owners from what I've read so far in these forums. I've recently switched to Maxxis 8008 ST 205/75Rx15 D at 65lb 2150lbs.

I'm researching the smaller AS trailers with single axles. The FC 20' is an appealing floor plan but with a GVWR of 5000 what tires in a single axle configuration could support that weight for the expected lifespan of the tires.

What tires come with the single axle Sport 16, FC19, FC20 and Sport 22 single axle AS? Please list the brand, size and load rating. I wish this info was in the AS brochure.

I don't have a list but in general the factory have been using GYMs in 225/75-15 D on the heavier single axle trailers. Many Airstreamers upsize the rims to 16", at which size there are all kinds of choices in LT or ST that will carry the weight, take your pick.

We have the 225/75-15D's on our 2008 22' Sport. Has over 20k. Put a set of new tires on it last summer. I see no need to change size.

We have a 2010 Flying Cloud 20' single axle. I switched to 16 inch rims and maintained the same tire size (225/75) but in 16". I went with LT truck tires for added piece of mind. With more than 10 thousand miles this summer, I'm very happy.

We had a Safari 20' single axle with 15" GYMs. The thing that bothered me was this tire on this trailer had to support more weight per tire than the largest Airstream. If I had kept it 16" wheels and Michelin would be on it, as they are on my new tandem trailer. But it would have cost me half as much.

We have the same setup as Ahab. Strangely, the size/pressure placard on the trailer specifies ST215/75-15 load range C! Seemed too low a load margin for me. After reading the endless threads about troublesome GYMs, I went with the slight upgrade to 225/75-15 load range D when we brought it out of four years storage.

It's my first single axle TT, and apart from the quicker pivot when backing, it hasn't been worrisome at all.

I have inherited a 1965 globetrotter that has been sitting in a pasture we need to bring it to our home 350 miles away! We want to put new rims and tires on it but don't know what kind to buy, any help?
