that would work but, I've found...
there's always piers holding sign or speakers
and
they're always on a raised platform and a tilted trailer will throw off the readings

Hmmm, I've only weighed once side to side, but the CAT scale I went to had plenty of clearance. IIRC, there was about 2.5 - 3' of shoulder outside the the scale pads and plenty of clearance to the piers. You just need the AS tires barely off the pad. All of the truck tires were on the pad. Check for other sites. I suppose (in your pic, you might have to back up and crank the wheel to drive off, but I didn't.

I'd like to get some independent street/curb side weights, particularly because of our S/O configuration
I saw a frame that was configured for a 30' Slide once at J/C
and the bracing up front didn't look symmetrical to me.
At any rate, tires all around appear to wear evenly (I don't rotate them), it tows true, and brakes in straight line, so I don't worry too much about it

That's true. Plus the weight of the slide itself. You would assume they would hav offset that with other appointments on the other side, but......?

Cat Scales differ. Similar but not identical. Ground level and raised, etc. One has to work with what is available. Or go on to the next one.

Or upgrade the tow vehicle for this type of scale.
