Two tire problems

On the way to Ohio I had a tire go completely flat and another almost flat. The one was completely destroyed, no damage to trailer. The other had a screw in it and was temp repaired. The rescue guy said, and I agree, that the first tire went flat and destroyed itself probably because of a screw as was in the second tire. I limped down the road on the spare and temp repair to a tire shop. Interesting, these were Firestone LT 16 inch tires. Hard to plug an 8 ply. Next day , crossing the Ohio river int Portsmouth I smelled diesel. One of the injector things on top of the engine failed. Pumped out huge amounts of fuel. Luckily I as was only three blocks from a dodge dealer who let me dry camp on his lot until the part arrived the next day. All is well now. The tires installed at the small town dealer were made in Vietnam, go figure. Have to go outside to see the brand. First tier was only a carcass, can't explain why no damage to trailer. I guess Avions are just built different, or I was very lucky.

I think you were very fortunate. Glad no damage was done to your avion
