Tires on 1971 21' Globe Trotter

This airstream belonged to my dad and it has been sitting for a while. He put new tires on it in 5/24/2006. They were st225 75r15 8ply marathon tires. They do not have many miles on them and the tread looks new. I know I need to pull the hubs and inspect the brakes and repack the bearings. Do the tires need replacing, we plan on using the camper a little before winter this year. All trips would be within an hours drive. Got to have new batteries and I just replaced the water pump. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
The tires should be replaced between six and eight years of age, no matter how many miles are on them. You might get away with it for a while, but one or both of them will come apart, and can cause serious damage to the trailer.

Hello Nob.

Globetrotters are single axle. New tires will cost less than $220. Buy tires that will carry over 2000 lbs for a little added safety. Keep the towing speed under 65mph. Life in the right lane ain't that bad. Goodyear Marathon (GYM) trailer tires of that vintage are known for failures.

New tires are cheap insurance.

Guess I will get new tires. I had seen several posts on GYM tires. Thanks for the help.
