I got back my original 1963Caravel after about 30 years of looking for it. Can anyone tell me the right size of tires to put on. These that the PO has on it are rubbing and I can't remember what I previously had on it.
I do not know what size tires you need...but I sure would like to hear the story of your search, find and purchase of your original '63 Caravel. 30 years of looking, I'd like to hear more.

Sounds like you may have had quite a time in locating that unit after so many years. My first A/S was a 71 international and I used a 7.00 x 15 tube type tire on it. What size do you currently have on the trailer. If it is rubbing I would think just dropping a size would help.
Good Luck.

OEM size would have been 6.50x15. Comparable tire size now would be an ST205/75R15.
We had a similar age Caravel here with the same issue, it had 225's, and needed 205's.

Terry
Just wanted to thank Terry for his information and to tell everyone that this trailer is going to be living in Rockford, Il, with the man who got me started in Airstreams. We traveled together as professional handlers on the AKC dog show circut several years ago and it was he who tried all these years to find that original 63 Caravel. He is restoring it to better than it was all those years ago. Time and previous owners haven't been kind to it. He will do a great job and I will send pictures when I can.
