Tires, anybody ever heard of Specialty Tires of America?

Looking at a used AS from an RV dealer. Needs tires. Quoted me $400.00 for 4 new tires, mounted and balanced made by Specialty Tires of America. Googled that name and found that they made tires for small airplanes and agricultural machinery. Any body have any experience with these tires? Thanks, Bill

Tires ARE VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

Just ask a few fourm members how much it cost to repair the damage a single blowout cost them, not to mention the heartbreak!

This is just a suggestion:

Tire Rack has Goodyear Marathon Special Trailer tires on sale for $76.00 ea size 225/75x15 Load range 'C', Load range 'D' are $84.00ea. I hope the link works (it does!!) as searching for trailer tires is rather difficult on their site.

They ship quickly and would ship to your dealer. He won't make any profit from his house brand, but you won't be buying an unknown quality tire. I've 6 marathons on my 34' and they are working fine. I'm sure there are other trailer specific tires out there, so take a little extea time to get a proper pair of 'shoes' on your bauxite beauty!

If there's a Sam's Club near you, you can get the Marathons there as well, for about the same price as Tire Rack's.
