The best way is to run the loaded trailer across the scale and get the axle weights. Add about 15% to this number and find the corresponding pressure rating from a tire pressure chart from the tire manufacturer.
From personal experience (which really doesn't mean to much to you), I my trailer tires are set at a cold pressure of 60 psi. I feel this is the right pressure due to the fact that hot running temperatures and pressures are within reason and there have been no popping of rivets. I also adjust my tow vehicle tire pressure accordingly. I have tried higher pressures and have gotten nothing but a bouncy ride in the truck and trailer.
