tire age?

for a new tire, how old is a reasonable tire age? These are LT tires (let's not get into the LT versus ST here, OK?) and I generally destroy tires inside of 3 years, so I'm not worried about getting 5-7 years on the trailer. If the tire is less than 6 months old, is that acceptable for a "new" tire?

Yes. It takes anywhere from 3-8 weeks to get a tire to the store, and it is not unreasonable to expect the tire to sit on a shelf for another 8-16 weeks. Popular tires will go quicker, and probably be fresher, but genereally speaking, anything less than a year old before it is installed on your vehicle is acceptable.

Mine came from China on a slow boat. 6 months is very reasonable.
