Subing Wheels/Tires from New to Old?

Question:

Would a set of ST22575R15 with a Rim 15 X 6 off a '99 28' Excell fit a 1961 Overlander Dual Axle?

I believe the 61 year went to the Duro-torque axles from the old spring type axles if that makes any difference to the Hub?

Thanks for any info.

Your problem will be in the offset, my 1972 has a 30 offset, while sometime in the mid '70's they went to a zero offset. I don't know if is the same still, or changed yet again. You can measure offset by laying your wheel on its side, with the side normally visible facing up. Offset is then measured with the difference the hub is from center being the offset.

That tire set up will work just fine, on your 61.

Thanks Andy.

When our "Forum Inspector" (great service this) checks her out he is going to take some measurements and check out the rims for their roadworthyness.

If all goes accordingly we would take a set of wheels down with us and change them down there.

We would then have to consider taking the rig to have them balanced for the trip home yes - or could you get away without balancing for about 500 miles???
