I am a tire freak I guess. If the tire looks even remotely risky, or it's older than 5 years, I replace it regardless of what it is on. In the relative scheme of things tires are cheap.

well good idea,

and i'm surprized this poll hasn't been done already...

again polls are for entertainment only...

what brand?

what defines failure...flat, spontaneous separation, road hazard-destruction.

vote once for each failure?

why just the last 5 years, why not 'ever'...

when was the bad batch?

let the voting begin!

I presume you only want users of ST tires to vote?

ST Tire Failure

Good Questions,

1. 2airsihuman
A. It does not matter what brand. Just ST tires.14s, 15s, 16s,
B. Failure: Not a nail.
1. Tire Pressure Monitor System alerted you to a loss of pressure that turned out to be a belt seperation/sidewall dissintegration.
2. Tire failed to perform its function as a tire and you had to change it before the time you normally would change it due to age/notread left.
3. Did not ponder that. The way the poll is set up each member can only vote once.
4. In my mind the tires would be changed out after five years. Anyone running tires over 5 years on a trailer is asking for it, according to what I have read here.
5. Not looking for a bad batch or I would have gone after a brand name. Just the type of tire, ST.

2. 68 Overlander:
A. At this time yes. Only users of ST tires

Thank you all for your questions.
If I've left something out, feel free to let me know.
I can always start another poll.
No ones name will appear to either me or anyone else, I set it up that way and only one vote from each forum member.
Please participate.

Maybe the "yes" people can elaborate, if they wish. No slams or discussions, just the circumstances.
I had two simultaneous separations, within minutes of each other, on a single axle trailer. Tires were less than two years old.
