Thumbs up Spare tire carrier for '65 Globetrotter

Another newbie question...Our recently purchased GT did not come with a spare tire but there is evidence of one mounted on the tongue because of round rub marks on the front skin of the trailer.

Was/Is there a spare tire carrier avaiable from the dealer? Is there an aftermarket carrier out there or do people just fabricate one themselves?

thanks,
Jim

If you go to "64 Globetrotter" and click on "InsideOutside", a Maxwell restoration, you can find excellent detailed drawings for a spare tire carrier. Fabricating is the only way I know of to acquire one. Goodluck!

We may be selling ours. We've been carrying the spare in the back of the tow vehicle and I'm thinking of putting a tool box across the tongue where the spare tire mounts. We have the part that attaches to the front of the trailer and the cover for it.
I'm going to gather together some items that we have and list them on eBay in a few weeks.
