Centramatic balancers, dynabeads....has anyone ever tried sliming your trailer tires? I slimed the tires on my motorcycle (BMW R1200C) and it rides GREAT. I ride it faster than I tow my AS. Tire pressure does not fluxuate...
I'm only asking the question. Is it feasible?

I am very surprised you feel your motorcycle rode better after you put that stuff in the tires! Putting Fix-A-Flat, Slime or any other similar product in your tires is not a good idea, except as a very last resort to get you off a dangerous road to a place of safety/repair. Number one, the stuff does not distribute evenly around the tire and will set the balance off as it shifts as you drive. Number two, many tire stores will NOT work on your tire if they have any hint that you have put that stuff in it, since it makes a big mess all over their equipment.
Slime's Web site even says: WARNING: FOR HIGH SPEED APPLICATION (OVER 65MPH/100KPH) USE ONLY AS A REPAIR (EXCEPTION: TRAILER TIRES). MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE VIBRATION WHEN INSTALLED IN FRONT TIRES OR ALL FOUR TIRES. TO ENSURE SAFETY, HAVE TREATED TIRE INSPECTED BY A QUALIFIED TIRE PROFESSIONAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER PUNCTURE OCCURS. SLiME WILL NOT SEAL SIDEWALL PUNCTURES OR BEAD LEAKS AND SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH FAULTY VALVES OR DAMAGED RIMS. EYE PROTECTION MUST BE WORN DURIGN INSTALLATION.

Slime is a great product widely used in bicycles and motorcycles for flat tire protection. If you run over a sticker or other small puncture, it reseals it. My impression (and only that) is that it is designed for tubes, not tubeless tires.
I do recommend it for bikes!

I have been using a product called Ride-On for several years with awesome results. It is water soluble and IMHO, a far superior product to Slime, as it does not have any harmful chemicals that can damage alloy wheels.
I first discovered it on a motorcycle forum and installed it on the bike. I actually had 2 nails in my back tire with no pressure loss somewhere within 3 months of adding the product.
I have since put Ride-on in ALL of my tires: motorcycles, trailers, Sprinter, Wife's VW, Airstream. I have not gotten a flat since or lost any presure in ANY of the tires! PLUS, the balancing issue is now a NON-ISSUE, as everything rides glass smooth. I won't ride without it.
Try it.........you'll LIKE IT!!

IIRC, whatever they are.....the shot was done in Sweden a few years ago. I vaguely remember when it hit the various new outlets. Caused quite a sensation, as you can imagine. Of course, I forgot what the point of the exercise was!!!

Thanks Lew. There is no balance problem with my BMW. Glad to know you use it in your Airstream. Not sure what the difference in the two products is, but will check. Thanks for your input. Karma to ya!

Susan,
thanks for your input also. I do not cruise the BMW above 65 and I am aware of the other warnings....also do not apply. Still think sliming (or another brand as Lew suggests) may be a viable option for the AS.
Thanks again.

Dave, Ride-On has a 95% effective rate with TUBELESS tires, and only a 65% rate with TUBE-TYPE tires. It not only seals the punctures rapidly, but dynamically balances as well, staying in it's original liquid-like state while inside the tire.
