Running a 34' on Two axles

I tried a search but without luck. I've been told that you can run a 34' on two axles for a reasonable distance. In other words, do you need a spare on a 34'?

Probably not on any of these trailers given choice of best tires and scheduled replacement (3-5 years).

You can run three tires on a torsion bar tandem axle as well, slower speed and reasonable distance, our Owners Manual describes it. The spare was optional on previous Airstreams. Carrying no spare saves a little hitch weight and is more viable with the highly reliable tires available today.

But we are not the adventurous lot of earlier Americans who liked to travel light, simple, and enjoyed roughing it.

You can limp down the road with only one tire on a tandem axel airstream and loosing one tire on a triple axel not a problem. Remove the wheel and go slow.

On AVION's you can "chain up" the axle and go reasonably slowly to the next place you can get it fixed

It will depend on what tires you are using and what pressure they are inflated to.

I run 16 in. E rated tires. The scheduled inflation for my weight is under 40lbs. I run them at 45 lbs, a pressure that will carry the trailer on 4 tires or 5 is one is flat. If I have a flat I will remove the flat and place one of the center axle tire in it's place. Balancing the trailer on the front and rear axle
