New Smart Phone App to measure vibration
I am new to smart phones and I finally got a new Samsung S3 and it is pretty darn cool. It has a 3 axis accelerometer and you can get an app "Sensor Kinetics" that lets you log and graph any sensor in the phone. This would take all the guess work out of figuring out if your running gear is out of balance. All you would need to do is take some baselines say running down the road in your tow vehicle or car. Then compare that to the runs you take in the trailer. You should be able to see a vibration period that corresponds to your speed, al least if you have a bad out of balance issue. You can take the period and the tire circumference and figure the speed you were going or you can keep a log of how long you were into the run to figure out speed.
I can also use the phone as a GPS so that is one more gadget I won't need. I bet there is a way to connect a backup camera to the phone as well.
