need new tires for 62 GT

PO installed 4 ply truck tires on my GT. getting a new axle installed this weekend (from andy @ inlandRV) and new wheels. so i need new tires but don't know what size i need; someone in this post noted that it was recommended to him that he install 225/75 r15 on his (unknown yr looks to be late 60's ) GT.

does this sound correct?

found some reasonably priced tires here;
Loadstar ST225/75D15 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range D Tires and Wheels AM1ST96

but its load range D. would this work with new wheels?
if i use the old wheels i need to keep using the load range C correct?
