Michelin Tire Recall - 5 free tires

We recently had a flat tire on our 2012 Eddie Bauer.
All tires were ready for replacement.
Checked online and there is a recall on the Michelin LTX 225/75R16.
Received five new free tires and installed for free by Discount Tires, Jacksonville, FL.

What's the reason for the recall?

what was the ORIGINAL date of the recall? There was one about 3-4 years ago. Your tires would have been about that time.

This is an old recall, I got a couple of years ago. I put 12,000 miles on a set, the got brand new ones from the recall.

The recall was for possible delamitation- funny since that's why I got rid of the GYMs.

Got 5 new tires last Sept on the same recall....called Michelin with the DOT number on the tires and they told me to go to a Michelin dealer - from what I remember they were put on by AS in 2010 to 2013 or so. A fellow camper saw my tires and suggested I make the call.

Thanks Missy Grace for the reminder, I had completely forgotten about that recall.
A few month ago I purchased 4 new Sendel TO3 16" Rims with Michelins that were taken off an Eddie Bauer in 2012 for reasons unknown. The tires were like new condition, since they were stored inside for 4 years. Yesterday I got a set of 4 new Michelins covered by the recall.

Oh my, this post caught me off guard since we just purchased the same type tires on our Classic so I went to the Michelin website and the DOT's are between 2010 and 2012. Ours were made in 2016 - whew! Thanks for the post anyway - it's always good to be aware of these things.

Thanks Missy Grace for the heads up !!! We were just up in Yellowstone NP and prior to getting there in Twin Falls ID we had a tire tire tread separation on our 2012 Eddie Bauer 27ft which also had Michlin tires. After I putting on the spare we went to Idaho Falls where there was a place we could get another 225 75 r16 LTX ms2 (the new replacement ) for the re-called 225 75 r16 ms. When we got home I looked on the Michlin web site and sure enough our original tires were on the re call list . I went to my local tire dealer and had (4) replaced because. I did not bring the damaged separated tire back home with me. (live & learn) so I only got four tires. Your message and mine should be spread around this Forurm to help others that may come into in our situation. Driving without a spare for more than 20 ft is not a good thing. THANKS AGAIN

If you did not receive notice of the recall someone failed to do their job.

New vehicle dealers, this included RV dealers. are suppose to register the tires (complete forms with DOT serial and new vehicle owner's name & address) and send the information to the tire registration authority.

Shame on your RV dealer.
