Trailers all come with rubber stems. Llando sooner is better. Someone like Discount Tire or similar will do it while you wait, takes about an hour. At the same time consider changing out all of the wheel nuts to full metal nuts rather than the chrome covered nuts that come on the trailer. If you ever have a reluctant lug nut that needs to be removed to change a flat the chrome covers/clad can add to the flat tire aggravation. Discount tire did all of valve stems and lug nuts on my Classic for about $80.

Metal Valve Stems required for TPMS?

Yes, and make sure that the extension is short enough that when you put the sensor on it is not hanging out in the danger zone! In other words, buy shorties.

A $1 or less metal valve stem purchased in bulk versus a nearly no cost rubber stem on a $60,000+ trailer. And the perceived high quality components marketing claims are based upon which parts?

I installed the Dill TPMS #1506 - 453 valve stems with the #1900 crystal monitor system. It provides an internal to the tire sender with a metal valve stem. I installed the system on both the new 15" SenDel T03-56545T wheels with Michelin LTX (P) 235/75R15 XL tires for the 23D and the SenDel T03-66655T 16" wheels and Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 tires for our Classic.

Since my truck runs 80 psi on the rear tires, all the tires came with metal stems.

I would think that the 2015 and later Classics and the Eddie Bauer 27FB that come with the SenDel T03-66655T 16" wheels and Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 tires set to run at 80 psi would have metal stems.

Swapping out to metal tire stems before the heat of the Southwest summer would be prudent.

My failures were all within days of each other and only about 3000 miles of being installed. But they failed in the southwest in July. Heat contributed.

What length of metal bolt-in valve stems are recommended for the TST TPMS? Seems that 1 1/4" is what is typically available. Does that work well?

I'm pretty sure that's what mine are.
