Maxxis, finally

Finding good tires for the Overlander had proven more challenging than I anticipated. I wanted to buy them locally, but it seems the only readily available trailer tires here are Carlisle's or Goodyear Marathons. I thought I had a lead on Cooper's, but was thwarted. I finally decided to break down and pick up tires via the Internet. I found Maxxis M8008 tires at discounttiredirect.com for $87 each and free shipping. The web site says UPS ground will take three to seven days. This is cutting a bit close for the Thanksgiving drop off trip, but I'm crossing my fingers that everything will go OK.

I hope you have the same great luck with the Maxxis tires that we have had, after several issues with the Goodyear Marathons, we looked around and decided to try the Maxxis tires on our 34. Will never go back to the Goodyears, the Maxxis tires are excellent.

Good to hear, but can you tell us how much time, and how many miles you have on the Maxxis tires? Just wondering because they all seem to be good when they are new.

We've got 25,000 miles on them and they look like they could go another 25...

There are many of us previous Marathon owners who have successfully made the switch to Maxxis tires. After continuing failures after only 10,000 miles on the Marathons its great to have confidence in a more reliable ride.

Another benefit of the Maxxis tire line is that for those of us with heavy trailers, we have an E rated ST option without having to go to 16" wheels and using LT's. That's one of my primary reasons for going to Maxxis.
