Since Airstream installs a specific Michelin tire on their trailers (Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 rated 2,680 pounds @ 80 psi P/N 05681) using a specific SenDel T03-66655T wheel, I installed exactly that tire and wheel combination. The Eddie Baurer models have had these as an option for years, they are standard on the 2015 31' Classic model 30 and the factory will install them on any 15" wheeled Airstream trailer.

Sounds like I have grounds to say it a proper tire for my Airstream.
But what if the factory misapplied the application?

Vehicle manufacturers tire fitments are determined by DOT rules and regulations. You and I can disobey those rules and regulations, maybe without penalties, but vehicle manufacturers are subject to stiff fines/vehicle recalls or both for not following the rules and regulations. Tires are not an exception.
