Is spare tire optional?

Are you supposed to get a spare tire with a new Airstream? I didn't! I called the dealer and he said to look at my paper work and see if it's included as the checked option. I can't find it checked or not checked. Anyone know if it's an option?

It came with mine. It was not an option. Call Airstream. They should know.

I bought a new Safari last year and just traded it in on a new Classic. BOTH came with a spare tire. Talk to your dealer. Good Luck!

I just reviewed the paperwork on our 2005 25' Safari FB LS. It shows that the spare tire bracket was standard equipment. The spare tire itself was listed as an optional item that was one of the components of the LS Option Package.

hi bd

in recent years the tire carrier/bracket has been standard.

the spare tire/wheel was an option.

some dealers automatically ordered the spare tires for every unit.

so on a given dealer lot spares became 'standard'...

some charge for the item and some do not...

many of the recent trim/upgrade packages have included a spare.

your dealer person is clueless or hiding the fact that they don't order spares with all units...

really penny pinchin' imo...

NOW, it is my understanding that the factory IS including a spare on virtually every unit.

the wheel may or may not match the 2/4/6 alloys...

cheers

bambi dad-----we purchased 3 new airstreams, 04-05-06. All came with spare tire carrier but the wheel and tire was an option. The optional wheel is steel and doesn't match the alloys on the ground. If your's ordered your trailer the dealer should have pointed this out. ----- pieman

It was an option with mine. Depends on the trim level you choose. Mine did not come with one standard. I ordered it.

Back during the 2004 model year, the spare tire and wheel was an option on the Classics.

The spare tire was an option on my '64 Bambi II and my unit had the tire and the aluminum cover. On my 2002 Bambi, it was automatically part of the LS package. It is stored underneath the rig. Not to ask a dumb question, but did you look underneath your trailer?
