Inside tire wear on back axle

Well an alignment is "right now", thats a big plus, and $300 isnt a big risk.

In your position I think I might do exactly what you are doing.

I hope it all works out well!

Kat's Cradle is in the shop..said it should be ready some time after lunch. They are taking off the Hensley..said they have to..to do the job correctly and will of course put it back.

They did some measuring and said the tongue was at the proper level..18-20 inches is fine. Did not feel the weight was wrongly distributed.

So far very impressed with these guys and ASs were everywhere in their yard. Did not see any SOBs.

Will let you know our results!

Kat

OK..done! The driver's side was towed out 3/8" and the passenger side 1/4". No need for new axle..back axle was one that was bent and front axle was fine.

How did it happen..who knows. Might have been jacked up from the wrong places or 2 different bumps on different sides.

Should be good to go. Going to be REAL careful who jacks our trailer up from now on. When our tires were put on they made awful faces but used our ramp.

NDallas says he will mark the jack places with red.

Hopefully that is the end of that story.

Please post who did the work. The price was a good one and others need to know where this type of work can be done.

We called Airstream Jackson Ctr and they recommended North Dallas RV in Carrollton, TX. They appear to be a renovator, repair shop. No new RVs. Many oldies ASs.

They are close to exit 444 off I35. We were coming to TX for a few days so sort of on our way. Great experience!

Verify they put the Hensley bolts back at the correct torque. Especially important for the sheer bolts screwed into the trailer tongue.

Will check the Hensley..drove trailer 200 miles after repair yesterday. Everything seems fine and they said no need for new axles.
