Your post on tire roundness was the last one before it got sidetracked.

Even if the forumla was incorrect, I thought you were going to make some point about tire roundness and hot tires. Were you? And what was it?

I totally lost where I was going.
Now that you mention it, I used to hear old fellas talk about tires that sat too long developing "flat spots". Not sure if there is any truth to this but I would think that if a tire sat in one spot too long it could become "out of round".
I am just wondering if this could be a problem. The age of the tire, coupled with the "roundness".
I am just throwing out food for thought. Not really looking to get jumped about this being fact or fiction.

That is from when most tires were bias ply, if the vehicle sat overnight, the belts would take a "set" in the part of the tire that was on the ground.This would cause a "thump, thump, thump" and a vibration until the tires had warmed back up, and the nylon belts had become flexible enough to smooth out the flat spot.

FWIW, I keep the Safari at 65psi regardless of how full or empty the Safari is. Also I keep 80 back and I think it's 80 front...going by what's on the tire for the Suburban, though it makes sense it might be less, but I figured, it's less rolling resist leading to better MPG....and ride quality isn't all that bad, or I just have not yet been bothered by it yet.
