dual wheel tire pressure

I am curious about the recommended tire pressure for the rear duals on my motorhome.
In reading my chassis manual and the owners manual I noticed that the recommended tire preasure for the front axle is 65psi. and the rear duals are to be at 55 psi.
Can sommmeone tell me why the lower pressure on the rear axle?
Is this due to more weight and more heat buildup?

In the rear, you are spreading the weight over 4 wheels and only 2 in front. Your tires will support a different weight at a different P.S.I. (up to the maximum that is printed on the tire). The only accurate way to find the correct P.S.I. on your M/H is to find the weight that is on the two left rear, two right rear, front right, front left then call your tire company with these four specs. If you haven't done this you might be in for a big surprise. Keep us posted. Good luck

Follow the owners manual recommendations for inflation ,your not going to inflate the tires more than the max pressure listed on the side of the tires
and certainly won't run them under inflated which will cause excessive heat
and tire damage /blowouts likely. your tire will show max single load (front)
and maxdual load for the rears on the sidewall .
