Denman Tires
Does any member have info on this brand of tire?
Supposedly made in U.S.A. in Leavittsburg, Ohio.
Their website leaves alot to be desired.
www.denmantire.com
I would like to know if Denman is still American owned even if the tires are made in America if anyone knows how to find this out.

Small World...
That's about 45 minutes from me! I never heard of them. I know a few folks around that might know. I'll check around and see what I can find out. I suppose you could just call them on the phone and ask. I would guess that they are a US owned company, but you never know these days.

Special tires
Pap,
I looked at the specification under ST and, it looks like either the bias or radial would do the job for a A/S.
example:
ST225/75R15 8 DRT-58R 11/32 5.4 28.5 8.3 6X15 65 2540 33
This looks to be about the size that A/S uses now on newer models.
I like the load rating. Wonder what the price is per?
Reckon I'll have to give them a call..Thanks for bring this one up, I've bookmarked it.
ciao

Well I will be using some Denman on my return trip from Georga. I was quoted $81.00 each for 225-75R15 load range D. I will report back on how the look, feel and handle. They are raidals at that too.

After 800 miles with the Denman's I have to say they are just Ducky. So far so good. When the weather clears I will get a photo of them for you. They are made in Mexico and seem to be good quality.

Here are the pictures I promissed.
They are load range D's. The old ones were Load range C and I have had no problems in the 800 miles I have used them thus far.

(6/2008) I just bought a set of 5 from Big O tire in Scottsdale AZ for my boat trailer. These are ST 215/75R 14 load range C. 4 were manufactured in various weeks of early 2008. One was made in 2006 and I am a little concerned with it. They have a pro-rated mfg warranty and are made in Mexico. At 50 PSI max they are rated for a load of 1870 #'s each and that is where they will be inflated by me to make sure I get my load handled.
Price was $87.95 each. Total taxed, mounted and balanced was $548.51
I really wanted tires with a 2000 # each load rating. To get that I would need to go to a 15" rim. The above tire is max size and load rating for a 14" rim. I have not weighed my boat and trailer and guess it is 7500 pounds total with full fuel, water and waste tanks. I am going to weigh in the next couple of days.
I will be using these in the coming months and years and will post my experience. When not in use they are covered with tire covers to keep the sun off of them.

So Denman has been making tires for about 10 years now. Any further reports?
I have Denman, Carlisle, and possibly Goodyear.
The Goodyear dealer in town does not have enough room to even park my trailer.
The Carlisle dealer has never jacked an Airstream.
The Demnan Dealer has jacked and Airstream. I quizzed them on this one and they answered correctly. The Denman Dealer network is impressive.
So how are Denman's holding up?

Till.
Be prepared for split wheels.
It's common knowledge that when a wheel has been used for years with load range "C" tires, and then new tires with a "D" rating are installed, the wheels will split.
All wheel manufacturers will quietly admit to that.
Upgrading to a greater tire load range on old wheels, is asking for trouble.
If you want to stay with the "D" tires, you should install new wheels that have a minimum rating of 2600 each, if they are steel.

Actually, Denman Tires have been around a very long time. They were the premier tire maker of the 1920's. They were popular on the likes of Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs.

Andy,
Interesting reply to a post that was made 5 1/2 years ago. And the same poster replied back 4 years later with no issues.

Miracles happen all the time.
Dealing with a safer approach to anything, I think, is a wiser move.
Things happen, flats happen, tires are ruined.
How do you purchase an off brand anything, especialy a matching tire, when your miles from home, and, usually on a trip? Spare tires are not carried by everyone.

Brian,
A previous report said they had been making travel trailer tires for 5-6 years. That post was about 5 years old.
