hey, i live in montana, and the guy who runs the local michelin store has been around trucks his whole life and is the kind of guy who could break an anvil.he uses denmans on an equipment trailer, and they hold up very well for him.i have bought two sets from him,225/15/R75 load range E,the first set was on a 76 26' argosy with new axles, and when we sold it after two years they still looked almost new and never gave us a bit of trouble.so i bought another set and put them on our new trailer,a 88 30' excella.both sets were made in mexico.

Actually, Denman Tires have been around a very long time. They were the premier tire maker of the 1920's. They were popular on the likes of Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs.

It's common knowledge that when a wheel has been used for years with load range "C" tires, and then new tires with a "D" rating are installed, the wheels will split.

All wheel manufacturers will quietly admit to that.

Upgrading to a greater tire load range on old wheels, is asking for trouble.

If you want to stay with the "D" tires, you should install new wheels that have a minimum rating of 2600 each, if they are steel.

Andy,

Interesting reply to a post that was made 5 1/2 years ago. And the same poster replied back 4 years later with no issues.

Miracles happen all the time.

Dealing with a safer approach to anything, I think, is a wiser move.

Things happen, flats happen, tires are ruined.

How do you purchase an off brand anything, especialy a matching tire, when your miles from home, and, usually on a trip? Spare tires are not carried by everyone.

Brian,
A previous report said they had been making travel trailer tires for 5-6 years. That post was about 5 years old.
