Cooper custom plus trailer tire

Well I will try again
Is any one running COOPER CUSTOM TRAILER PLUS tires
Would like any info, price, where you found them, MOST OF ALL DO YOU LIKE THEM and are yours made in the USA.
Cooper said they are still making them.

Cooper Custom Trailer Plus

jimmini
I looked into the Cooper before going to the BF Goodrich Commercial T/A (LT225/75R16 LRD, my 1984 31 FT Excella came with Michelin XCA 7.00-15 8 ply) and found these things:
1. Coopers marketing structure has made these tires hard to get (two to three days through the mail at best).
2. Warrenty response to failures (I personally don't think there would be any other than road hazard damage). There being few dealers you would be setting there a couople of days waiting for a replacment.
3. I'm under the impression that they have discontinued this tire.
4. If your trailer came originally with the 7.00-15 8 ply then the 16 inch BFG Commercial T/A or the Michelin XPS in LT 225/75R16 will fit on the proper wheels (0.00" offset 6 or 7 inches wide and proper backset), you just must not run over 60 PSI in the tires or a rough damaging ride can result (now only available in LRE, max air pressure is 80 PSI).
5. I would have gone with the Coopers if they had been more available (and not discontinued [according to the Cooper web site the last time I was there]).

Cooper tires

Beginner
Cooper dealer said they still are make them and I would have to have dealer order them.
The prices I have found are $158 to $182 each and that is a lot of $ over Maxxis and Tow Master. So that is why I am looking for info
I now have Tow Masters that have and are running well but are old they are H78-15ST that is how old they are.Now would be ST225/75R15s.

I need some tires, and would probably by the Coopers if I could find them. I've looked and no one around here has them.

I found a little service station nearby that can order the Cooper Custom Trailer Plus, 225/75/R15, Load Range "D," max load 2540 lbs. They want $146.37 per tire.

Now, I could pick up Michelin LT truck tires for $125 a pop. The most commonly stocked trailer tire locally is the Goodyear Marathon which also seem to run about $125 each. So, is the Cooper worth $20 more a tire? Let me know before I plunk down my money.

I've searched all over for D range "LT" tires in either 225 or 235/75/15, but can't find them. The closest I've been able to find is 235/75/15 "XL" (extra load) tires. Wonder if they would be any good on a trailer?
