Car Tires

I'm not sure if this is safe, stupid or smart???

I've seen people on YouTube say putting car tires on the AS will cause the TT to have a better ride and increase the mileage.

Any comments, feedback or experience with this?

Search the forums for use of 16" wheels and Michelin light truck tires on Airstreams.

Passenger car tires may not be the best idea, but look around. It verges on a heated discussion...

Passenger car tires (the tire that the size starts with a P) can work on a trailer. The load capacity on those tires need to be reduced by at least 10% and 15% would be better.

Know the load of your trailer for each tire and size the replacement tires by load rating to the highest loaded tire. Typically tires on a travel trailer will be loaded unequally.

I'm going with *Stupid* unless there are qualifiers to the statement. The qualifiers are that there is enough load carrying capacity (referencing Action's comments about the 10% reduction and knowing what the actual loads are!) and there is enough room under the fenders.
