Any good tire covers?

I would like to get tire covers for my 2 axel 27'FB to shield them from UV. I was going to try the ones at Camping World, but they get poor reviews as being to flimsy and not very durable. Does anyone know of a good brand?

Have you looked at ones made by Classic Accessories. They are decent for the price of $34.00 to $43.00 per pair. Mine lasted three years so far. Thanks, "Boatdoc"

We have always purchased our tire shades (for 5 trailers) from ZipDee Awning company. Seem to hold up and easy on & off. Also have made plywood shades for long term storage.

Got mine at Walmart two years ago and they are holding up well.

We got ours at Harbor Freight. I think they were like 7 or 8 bucks on sale. They are a heavy weave burlap like material with a wire hoop to keep them on the tire. I have pulled the wires and ML has washed em once or twice. They seem to be holding up well.

Thanks, this is all very helpful. I think I like the single wheel rather than the dual wheel covers. I would think they would be easier to remove and store.

A fact to consider is that if you heed the advice to replace the tires every 6 or 7 years regardless of treadwear, you will end up doing so before there is any significant UV degradation.

Ditto...we don't expect the wheel covers to last forever, but ours form Camping World are lasting quite well. We have the black ones that are vinyl (looks great on an an AS)... easy to wipe off/clean when they get dusty ... We don't use them unless we are stting somewhere for more than a couple of days...and we don't need them at home becasue where we store the AS it is protected from the sun.

We recently bought a heavy duty cover for our barbecue; they were on a clearance sale at a major department store. The black vinyl-coated fabric was much heavier than the tire cover we had on the spare on an old van. I'm sure the barbecue cover would fit over a couple of tires -- Has anyone tried using these?

This may be the case for MN and in OR, however in the AZ sun I have had unprotected tires start checking in 3 years.

That mildew question .... I gotta pass on that.

i use simple hefty trash bags (black) and wrap them around the tires. i fasten them with a clothespin. perfect. and less than a buck a wheel. try it. you'll like it.

before we leave, i pull them off...use them to empty the garbage and store peat moss. when i get back i put four more on. absolutely beautiful in its simplicity.
