Airstream Tire Poll for Travel Trailers with NO Tire Failures

Airstream Tire Poll for Travel Trailers with NO Tire Failures

The following questions are specifically directed towards those that responded NO to the question, “Has a tire failed on your Airstream in the past 5 years”, in the related Airstream Tire Failure Poll.

If your Airstream had a tire failure in the previous 5 years, please DO NOT participate in this poll. Instead, click the appropriate link(s) below and enter your responses in the other Airstream Tire Failure Polls, as applicable, if you have not already done so:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f438...tml#post988146

Notes:

1. Another poll on failures of different tires, AFTER replacing those described in the original Airstream Tire Failure Poll, is currently in work and should be posted soon.

2. For the purposes of THIS poll, flats, blowouts and other tire problems caused by a spike strip, arrow/knife/bullet and other miscellaneous puncture, defective or bent rim or other “accidental cause”, which are not specifically attributable to tire design or manufacturing defect are NOT considered a “tire failure”, and a NO response should be entered for the first question in the poll.

Thanks, in advance, for your participation.

Gene, I've just got one more to go, then that's enough for me (too much work). Need to have one for failures AFTER the OEM Marathons were replaced, which should show failures on other brands. Any suggestions for questions are welcomed, from everybody...

Thanks,
Phoenix

regarding last item on survey: I did not replace the 12 year old GYM's with new GYM's due to all the negative comments on this forum.
I made my choice to replace with TowMax based on:
1. recommended by my tire dealer I have known for 30+ years
2. wanted E load rated tire in lieu of D
3. price
4. local availability

In regards to last item. My next set of tires will be D or possibly even E rated. I didn't know enough when I bought the C rated tires.

I would most likely not install goodyear marathons back on my trailer due to many complaints of blow outs and there made in China
