8-ply or 10-ply tires??

I'm going to get new tires for our 92 25' Excella. It has 8-ply tires now. Should I go with 8-ply or 10-ply? The tires on it now are 8-ply ST225/75R15. The owner's manual recommends this size but doesn't say whether to use 8-ply or 10-ply.

Also, any recommendations on brand might help me out.

Thanks,
Doug

8 ply is plenty. 10 ply will just make it ride harder. Especially if pressurized to the max. I run 8 ply ST tires on our 26' Argosy with 55# of air. Drive at 60mph. No problems in over 8,000 miles.

Suggested reading, then you can decide for yourself:

Note: There are a lot more threads on tire failures, but the two above contain most of the prevalent opinions.
