63 flyingcloud tire n rim size

I have just purchased a 63 flying cloud 22' single axle. By problem starts with the fact that I need to purchase new rims and tires for it befor I make the 5 hour trip to pick it up. I cant find any manuals or info on this model to see what size to purchase. any help appreciated. Im new to vintage airstreams and looking forward to the project at hand.

Hello 63streamer ,

Flying clouds just sound cool don't they? Do you know what is on the trailer now? It should be a 6 lug nut type wheel and the tires probably are 700-15 .Maybe I say ,as you might have a smaller axle using a 5 lugnut wheel .Can you get the seller to get take a look at what is on the FC ?
Once you have the size of the wheel ,then you can go to your local RV store
or rather call them to see if they have the wheel you need ,Also remember
how many lug nuts hold the wheel on .You can get wheels from your local tire
shop ,ask for trailer wheels ,not car wheels ,they can get you what you need
with tires .Many choices on tires ,bias plys or radials ,most are using radial trailer tires .I know the goodyear marathon is widley used ,but not the only choice. The original heavy duty tire was a bias ply tire ,that being said radials
were in there infancy in those days .I prefer the bias ply ,but its not the only
choice for certain . Any way ,good luck bringing your new vintage FC home.
