Hi Terry, Steve just commented after I read your post to him..he almost was going to deflate the tire to get it up on the wheel..he asked his neighbor and was able to lift it on..he agrees w/you, phasing out of the bias700x15...
We've got new tires to try now and will see how long they last: Transmaster st Radials, 80 pounds cold pressure 10 ply..steel belted..I asked the tire guy how long he thought they'd last us..he said jokingly, about 20 minutes..
I asked him what caused the tire to fall apart: he suggested: over/under inflation, going from hot to colder temperatures (you lose a pound of pressure with every 10 degrees), rough roads, and other possible factors..

As I have stared before,
You dont need tire with more weight carrying capacity, just tires designed to withstand the heat.
The 65 MPH Special Trailer (except for the Cooper Custom trailer plus) has no safety margin when run at 65 mph on hot summer days.
Those of us who have gone back to the original type tire that came on our trailers have stopped having trouble.
