1977 Argosy Lug Bolt Pattern

Hi

I've done a search but didn't find anything. Does anyone know the lug bolt pattern for a 1977 Argosy 24? The only thing I've been told by the owner so far is that the tires are 8ply/715's.

If the deal goes through we'll be leaving on Friday and I want to know if I can bring my current trailer tires as back up if they are the same that is.

thanks

Should be the same as Airstream: 6 lug on 5 1/2" center

Also remember if you're getting wheels, it requires a zero offset.

Also 77 Argosy's have lug bolts, not lug nuts. Aluminum wheels will not work unless you replace the lug bolts with studs and the correct lug nuts. Ask me how I know.

Now I am confused, we have a 1973 Land Yacht, 15 inch wheels with lug bolts. Wheels are just black steel. I want to replace with aluminum wheels. On the forums I have heard two troubling comments.
1) Remember the wheels have zero offset? What does that mean??
2) Lug bolts will not work on aluminum wheels need lug nuts?? Do not know why.

Please help before I do something stupid. Thanks Ron Sessa

Offset is the distance (in millimeters) between the part of the wheel that contacts the hub face and the centerline of the wheel. Any reputable vendor selling new wheels will know the offset.

I think the aluminum wheel issue is that the lug bolts intended for steel wheels don't work properly with aluminum wheels. The same is true of lug nuts. The shape of the part that contacts the wheel is the issue.

You may want to wait on the aluminum wheels. The chances are good that the axles will need to be replaced. I am not aware of any new axles and brake assembly's with lug bolts. All have studs with lug nuts. As mentioned above, aluminum wheels use a different lug nut.
