Personally, I use 700 x 15 bias ply. But you will get arguments on that.

7.00R15, if you want a radial. Both they and the 7.00 15 bias are getting kind of tough to find in a good quality tire. Your metric alternative is a 225/75R15. It's a little wider and a little shorter than the 7.00 size.

I would agree that finding a quality tire has gotten difficult. I blew out 3 Goodyear Marathons and one Kumho before a settled on Maxxis, and yes, I did have the correct amount of air in all of them. Many, many threads on tires.
