I have a slightly different approach. My 16s go on this Friday. I have asked for helium in order to reduce some tongue weight.... 😤

Last year when I moved from 5120' ASL to 63' ASL I gained 10 lbs. How do you explain that.. Also, at low tide around here, there are plenty of odors to get high or low with. My favorite is 3 day old dead fish, followed by rotting seaweed.

The wheels are on, the 16 inch michelins, the dill TPMS and centramatics. Only had one glitch with centramatics, the holes for the lug studs were slightly imperfect and a bit of filing was needed. The 16 in spare went in ok with a push from my foot....
Now it's travel time!

Perhaps the ice cream regimen was increased at the lower altitude to increase the weight by 10 pounds?

I figured out what caused it. The weight gain was obviously the result of the weight of the extra 5057 feet of air pushing down on me.

Hitch Ball Adjustment?

Seriously considering this upgrade. Has this upgrade from 15" to 16" tires required anyone to adjust the hitch ball height??

Word on the street, as it were, is that the trailer height changes by no more than 1/2". Whether one has to adjust the hitch ball (or anything else) in response will probably vary from one user to the next based on their current setup.

I did not adjust my ball height.
1/2" of height 20' from the ball didn't change the height/angle much.
The stance of the trailer on the truck still appears the same.

16" Sendel Wheels & 16" Michelin LTX Tires

I replaced my 15" bad year marathons in August of 2013 after the front right marthon tread separated and did a little over $5500 with of damage to my 2009 27FB. I had a thread on airforums with pictures about my experience.

I had the wheels and tires replaced with the Sendel 16" rims and Firestone e rated tires. So far I'd estimate I've towed around 20,000 miles in the last three years and it has towed great. I tow at about 68mph and 65psi on the tires.

My Brother put the 16" sendels and e load tires on his 30 bunkhouse and it has towed great for him so far.

I see no downsides to the upgrade as long as there is clearance.

Forget the Nitrogen!!! The "solution," when changing tires is to add several chickens to the inside of each tire & then mount the tire on its rim. Therefore, when driving, the chickens will flap their wings, and the downdraft will provide sufficient downward force to counter the weight of the wheels etc. & result in your Airstream truly streaming in air --- floating --- in back of your tow vehicle. Voila: Unlimited mileage tires, whether Goodyears, Michelins, or whatever!!!

We just got home from our local tire store with 5 new Michelin LT225/75R16E tires installed on Sendel T3 aluminum rims. Parked it and right away noticed that its slightly higher in the rear now. We will adjust our hitch ball height to compensate.
