16" sendel wheel and Michelins

FYI:
I just ordered a set for my 25FC. Good price from Performance Plus.
I've ordered new lug nuts as well but I don't know what size they are.
Can someone tell me what size to ask for?

I had the same question for 15" SenDel wheels a few weeks ago, and called Airstream technical support for the answer. They got back to me in less than a day. From the Airstream website:

I just bought 36 lugs to go with my Sendel wheels. They are stamped 1/2- 20. They are the solid steel. Make sure you do not get the lugs with caps. They are garbage. I paid $2.00 a lug from a local Goodyear store that sells wheels.
Hope that helped,
Joe

Did the same thing. Our Classic 30 also uses 1/2" - 20 thread per inch lugnuts. Maybe the same is used on all models?

I agree with you about avoiding the lignite with caps - they were on our wheels before, caps came loose, jammed in the wrench socket etc.

The time I bought the chromed solid steel ones. Probably would be better still to go with stainless - my local tire shop didn't have them when i had my 16" wheels installed though.

Probably helps avoid damage to the lug nuts a bit if you stick with using 6 point sockets rather than 12 point. I didn't always do that!

Thanks to all for the responses.
1/2 x 20 lug nuts it is.

I'll post a picture when all is mounted on the 25FC.

Michelin recall

Campin hound, you may also want to make sure that your new Michelin tires are not subject to this recall:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/...tsa_ids=13T012

The recalled tires are Airstream-provided original equipment on Eddie Bauer models.

These tires were also available at any Michelin dealer during the time periods of the recalled tires, not just Airstream.

Just a point of interest, the lug nuts need to have deep threads in case one needs to put on the much thinner steel spare wheel lug seating location than the one in the aluminum wheel(s).
