16" SenDel/Michelin Combo

In the last few months, I read a thread where at least one poster very specifically described the 16" Sendel wheel and Michelin tire that sounds just like my 2009 28' Flying Cloud would need. The poster provided detailed model #s, sizes, etc. that I could use that would let me avoid somehow making the wrong purchase.
Have now spent 5-6 hours trying to find this information again to no avail. There are some 5000 posts supposedly on this subject!!
Can someone help me out?? Thanks.

Sendel T03-66655T (or 66655BM if you want the black accent versions)
Michelin LTX M/S2 LT225/75-16 (load range E)

The Michelin XPS Rib tires are also fine, but they are considerably more expensive with no real evidence they offer any practical advantage for this application.

While everyone likes to tell you to use search, my experience is the built in search on the site is pretty useless. The only way I can usually find something is using Google with a site-specific search.

Something like "wheel tire 16" site:airforums.com"

And recstuff.com usually has the cheapest price on the wheels, oftentimes with free shipping.

We bought five of those same tires and wheels in October of 2014 for our 2015 Flying Cloud 25FB.

After extensive Internet shopping, we found the best deal from Performance Tire Plus in Long Beach, California. They shipped the tires and wheels to us already mounted, balanced, and inflated. We did the install on to the Airstream ourselves.

The cost at that time was $330 per tire/wheel including delivery to our house.

As noted there are some good deals out there and in the case of the tires, some of the Internet vendors provide free delivery, no state taxes, manufacturer rebates and deals with shops in your area to mount and balance your tires at preferred rates. With rebates my Michelins back about 4 years ago, netted out for about $160 each. Mounting on my new Sendel wheels and balancing along with disposal of my ST tires and demounting them off my old wheels cost $16 each at a NTB location close to my home.

I got my tires from discounttiredirect.com and I got the Sendel wheels from Tredit.

I got 5 wheels and tires and a Dill TPMS from my local Discount Tire for around 2K with a road hazard warranty. When you find your best internet price, check with local shops and see what the difference is. In my case, it was negligible and everything came from one place. I picked them up and put them on the trailer myself.

66655BM Appears to be a 15" rim, unless I'm reading it wrong

As I read it, the first digit, "6" indicates a 16" wheel.

I think you are right...I think I am reading it wrong.

I am about to make this purchase, it would be catastrophic to order the wrong part....

I put the 15" SenDel T03-56545T wheels with five lug bolt pattern on the 14" brake drums of our 23D and the 16" T03-66655T wheels on our Classic Kodiak disc brake rotors. Both trailers are on Michelin tires: The 15" tires are the Michelin Michelin LTX (P) 235/75R15 XL tire and the 16" Michelin Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 tire with Michelin part number 05681.

Here is the SenDel information link to their web site for the same wheel design used by Airstream and captioned above. Note there is a similar design with black highlights.

Also note the SenDel T02; we installed this model retain the calm appearance of our Flying Cloud.

Ditto; although we seem in the minority, I prefer T02s. Looks more like OEM wheels.

The T03 has become the popular choice due to A) it having a higher rated weight limit (3850 vs 3250 as I recall) and B) it is the wheel AS uses on the Classic and EB.

There is also a Sendel wheel very similar to the 15" wheels used on the International models if that is your preference. I think it is the S20. regardless of model, the 16", 6 lug, 5.5" bolt center, 0 offset wheels have the 66655 suffix. T for all silver, BM for black accent (if available).

Be aware that PerformancePlus does have preassembled wheels/tires but they do not offer metal valve stems (I called). My local Michelin dealer (Tire Kingdom) had the same price on the tires as mail order except for the sales tax. They also were happy to order 5 new tires from the warehouse as the ones they had in stock were over 1 year old per the date code.
