Is there any truth to this concern? What have you experienced?
If you ever need any work done on your trailer, I would not put the restorer who told you this at the top of the list.

If you're pulling with the proper TV, tanks don't matter, full or empty. When you're pulling with a wimpy TV, that is underrated & insufficient regardless of who set it up, but you think it's ok, well, beware!
I see these on the Interstate & I really don't care about your safety but it gives me pause because you are jeopardizing mine. If you can afford the Airstream do the right thing & buy a truck & stop work worrying about what's in your tanks.

Full fresh... Empty gray, a couple gallons in the black to keep "things" fluid and flowing... Water is the best solvent!

You'd better look for a more sound source of info and leave that "restorer" alone!
He mentioned it in passing. I thinks I've found more than enough validation that towing with a full water tanks is not only OK but beneficial. Thanks everyone.

It was suggested to me in the beginning to put about 4 to 5 gallons of water in each of the gray and black tanks along with the Eco Smart holding tank additive after each dumping. The sloshing from water movement when under way keeps "stuff" moving in the tanks.

We refill the fresh tank before departure so the tires are not supporting as much dead weight while in storage.

WE have always towed our 77 with full fresh water tank. No aware of any damage. Although because of the BIG C we have not towed in two seasons but hope to get back at it this summer.
