OK, first of all, thanks gang for any help on this. I am trying my best to buy this
1968 Sovereign. Its been sitting in Northern Nevada for most if not all of its life and sitting in this very spot for over 20 years, unused.
My plans are to restore it with modern items, stove, fridge, ect and make it a nice towing vehicle. I am no major mechanic, but have a nice shop and restore cars. I can not get this into my shop as I have 5 or so projects in the shop awaiting a restoration.
I hope to get this in the next month or so and when I do I will have to buy tires for it as these are too old to haul it home (40 miles) on.
If I need new axles, which ones are good and do I need disc brakes, ect? I am hauling with a 2005 Dodge 1 ton diesel dually with a jake brake on it but I am into very safe towing and want stopping power.
which is the best way to buy axles and ship them, saving money and then I wil need to install them myself. Do I buy new springs as well or how what do you guys suggest. How much do springs cost and what should I expect to pay for the entire parts and wiring for the brakes?
I am an hour and a half from Reno and 3 hours from Sacramento. I dont mind picking up axles if it save me a ton in shipping.?????????????
thanks for any help.
