Wheel bearing part #s

Hello all,
This is my first post here.
Well, I tried to ask this question last night but must have done something wrong because I can't find it anywhere.
Anyway,
I'm going to pick up my "new" Airstream tomorrow.
It's a 1967 Airstream Tradewind 24' Land Yacht.
I'll be pulling it home from about 200 miles away.
The seller says it's all ready to go but I would feel much better if I could bring an extra wheel bearing and race/s along.
Does anyone happen to know what the part #s would be for these items?
Would a place like Napa or Northern carry them or will I have to go to a more specialized bearing house or a dealer?
I've been looking around this site for a couple of days now and am really impressed with the vast amount of knowledge here.

Congradualtions and welcome to the forum!

Well most bearings are pretty easily obtainable at most parts stores. On the edge of the bearing race is usualy a part number that most parts stores, like Napa and Autozone, can cross refference. I personnaly like the Timkin brand sold at Autozone.

I know that's not helping you at this point but maybe somebody has a set laying around and can get you that part number. There will be both a part number for the outer race that you would press into the hub as well as one on the inner race that is captive to the rollers.

Hopefully Andy from Inland RV will see the post and might be able to provide the numers. He's a wealth of information.

could your trailer be the one i saw on e bay?

200 miles is not that far, if the p.o. sez it is ready to go it might be.

after being involved in dragging two vintage trailers home with a friend of mine, all i can say is give it a shot.

if you get going, stop after 20 miles or so stop and feel the bearings (hub) with your hand. it should be cool, or at least mildly warm. not so hot that you cannot keep your hand on it.

most likely you will need to rewire the trailer plug to match your tow vehicle. take a spare plug that matches what you have.

worst case you will need to do a roadside repair, as toaster pointed out, bearings are common and should be available at napa. oil seals as well.

just make sure the brakes work, for everyones safety.

go by your gut, if it looks like a dangerous set up don't tow it. then come back later with the stuff you need to do the job right. it is only 200 miles after all. worst case you'll be out, is an afternoon.

Yes John it's the one from Viroqua.
I'll be going down to pick it up early tomorrow.
I know almost nothing about these Airstreams
so I didn't know if things like brakes wheel bearings and the like are standard items or if they are special to AS.
I saved my self a bunch of time and grief once on the AlCan because I just happened to have a spare front wheel bearing for my truck. I figured a spare for this trailer would be easy to stash in a corner somewhere.
I have a 7 pin outlet on my PU but it is the new style with the rectangular pins. Shall I presume that this AS will have the old style plug with the round pins?

I spoke to the PO on the phone a couple of times and he seems like a pretty straight shooter.
So I might like you say, just hook up and go and check the tires and wheel bearings regularly.
The old "wing and a prayer" theory.

It's them wings that are hard to find...

i knew someone would come through with the numbers, way to go pick.

if you need to get parts, sparta wi is the closest thing to civilization.

if the trailer has its original plug, the reverse lights and charge line might need to be swapped.

i may very well plug right into your truck with a little rewire.
