What brand / type of grease do you use?

Folks,

Is there a particular type/brand of grease that folks recommend when repacking their wheel bearings?

Airstream recommends Valvoline crimson red. However, I cannot seem to find this at any local parts stores.

Crimson #2 Grease

Thoughts?

grease...

Any wheel bearing grease for "disc brakes" is OK. I have seen the Valvoline red grease at Wal-Mart for about $3.00 a can.

That's good grease! Any name brand HIGH QUALITY will do the job.

I use the Valvoline Synpower.
Synthetic Grease

You should be able to order this in at a goods parts house.

I use Valvoline Super Blu, no problems. Also good for the wheel bearings on the tow vehicle.

Thanks to all.

FYI: I called Valvoline. They said the Valvoline Synpower is better than crimson. I think I will try that.

Fuchs makes a great grease for wheel bearings if you can find it - one of the best we ever ran accross in my axle manufacturing days!

Cheers,
Henry

What about me!

Don't I feel strange - I used to ask for a barrel of Fuchs!

Asking for Fuchs by the barrel? Too much asking for me.

We used about one per week - roughly 55 gallons for $450.00!
