Trailer Bouncing

My 1970, single axle, 21' trailer is bouncing significantly going down the road. The shocks "feel OK' when off the trailer. I'll have them checked by pro later today. Any other ideas???

My trailer went from bouncing all over the road to smooth sailing after I put in a new axle. World of difference in the ride and handling.

Like the others here, chances are the rubber in your torsion axles has solidified. Their is no repair other then replacement. I replaced the axle in my 71 21' Globetrotter a few years ago. When I jacked mine up the axles would not droop down far enough to even remove the tire. Try jacking it up and see if the stays or drops down, if it does not or moves very little then the axles are shot. They are easy to replace, there are many threads and opinions here about axles. I replaced mine with a Dexter that I ordered from our local Redneck Trailer dealer. If I remember correctly it cost me around $525.00. I have a post on my thread below about changing mine.

Welcome to the Forums

Sounds like everyone agrees on an axle. Will check it out and let all know.
Thanks!
