Salt Lake Dealer feedback? - installing an axle lift kit

Does anyone have any experience with the Airstream Dealer in Salt Lake City? I am thinking about having them install my lift kit, though it is about a six-hour drive each way.

When I spoke with them, they seemed very accommodating and said they install a lot of lift kits.

thanks for any information.

I am thinking of asking the same dealer to lift mine. Did you have yours done?

Hi,
Not yet. I started to do it myself but could not get the LP gas fitting loose.

I was hoping that someone would respond to the post and offer comments about their experience.

The search function in the blue box above works great [desktop main site]. These “Salt Lake dealer” results may be productive?

Link

If you enter the dealer’s name, that might also work.

Good luck,

Peter

I just spoke with Taylor (Service Manager at Airstream of Utah). He has a couple of trailers that have been lifted. I’m gonna take a look at them to see how high the lift and step is, but I’m strongly considering it.

Update: I stopped by this afternoon. Taylor had one in the shop they had recently lifted. He was very accommodating and talked me through the process and trade offs. I’m gonna have them lift ours.

Steamy1 and 2Montana,

If either of you end up having the lift install completed by Airstream of Utah, please keep up posted on how it went. This is one mod I may outsource. Thanks a bunch.

It really is not too difficult ... give it a try yourself - if you have the lift kit ...

eganwh- Not sure why someone with an Eddie Bauer would lift - it has already been lifted a bit at the factory ...one of the benefits of the EB option.
Your whole balance dynamics change with a lift. Our insurance company is VERY Wary of insuring our jeep with a lift. Check your insurance to see if it will maintain coverage if you lift the AS.
Horrible to find out after an accident that insurance coverage has been denied !

I like them that where I bought my airstream. They are very knowledgeable and I would trust them that project. Also I camped on antelope island when I left there it’s an amazing place to camp and only a short drive from airstream of Utah.

Well, I was just gettin' ready to pull a wheel this week a take a look. Is it really lifted? If so, is it a lift kit (2 5/8") or axles with a the high profile brackets (0.82" lift). I was thinking the lift was from just the 16" wheels? Thanks for confirming.

Thanks everyone!

All very helpful. I believe I will ask them to do the work though it may be towards spring now.

I have the lift kit and even modified two brackets to accommodate the gas line on the street side.
